Does anyone here work for JCPenney? How much do they pay their employees per hour?

I have a job offer at JCPenney. The manager said he can pay me more than what I am currently making at my job now, which is $6.00 per hour. I have not had the chance to really talk to him yet. How much do they normally pay their employees?

      Well it all depends on what you will be doing. But please don’t make the mistake of leaving one company that has a fair job responsibilities and go to another company with overwhelming job responsibilites for a few more pennies that what you are getting paid.

      But where I’m located the pay is extremely high for a department store. About $11.00 an hour for sears, and about $13.00 for dillards. Right now I’m living in New Orleans so you can go to McDonald’s and make $9.00 with bonus every month. Cost of living has gone up and so has the wages.

      I am the payroll manager for a large company and I can tell you this. There is no normal scale of pay because everyone has different backgrounds / skills. People can be paid more or less for the same job based on the expirience they have. The pay someone else gets will always be different from yours. Pay can vary by city and state and other things can also affect it like absenses and being late or even speaking other languages. I would recommend that if you have questions you speak to your manager because some places of employement do discourage discussing pay with others and if you are caught you recieve disciplinary action and / or termination.

      JCPenny in washington pays 10.00 a hour starting.If you sell lots of stuff you get a percentige of the sale. Like 25%.
