The staff said I am not allowed to try dress shirt. My question is how will I know the fit unless I try it on. Is this common in all JCPenney or should I have taken this matter to the attention of the store manager?

That’s crazy. You should have asked why and then made up something like, “My cousin just came in here to try this on last week.”

I have never had any troubles with that store.
You should ask why they are not letting you use their dressing room.
Oh well its their loss of sales.

I’ve never heard of that happening and I’ve worked at JCP for quite awhile.

Chances are the employees were just being asses and didn’t want to have to re-fold and re-pin it to make it look like it did before you tore into it. That’s always a big frustration at my store, but we would never and have never told someone they couldn’t try it on.

And to the first poster: No retail employee actually cares when a distressed customer threatens to go to another store. Quite honestly, we’d rather have them not shop at our store, either.
