Hey all. I’m 28 years old and am at a total loss as to what kind of maternity clothes to buy and where. I received 2 gift cards for Christmas and am thinking of using them to get some maternity clothes. One of the gift cards is for Walmart and the other is JCPenney. What do you all think of their maternity clothes? I don’t really like tight tight clothes. I just want clothes that makes me feel comfortable and casual. By the way, I’m pretty big at this point (7 months) Where did you 20 year olds get your maternity clothes? Thanks.

I LIKE OLDNAVY AND TARGET

I’m 27 and I got most of my maternity clothes at Wal-Mart and Motherhood. I’m not big on tight clothes either and I gained 50 lbs when I was pregnant and everything was pretty comfortable. Also try going to consignment shops, those are full of maternity clothes, usually pretty upscale stuff.

I got a lot of mine at Wal-mart and Target. I went recently to Penny’s though to buy some for my sis in law and they had great ones too. Maternity clothes are all the same. As long as they are comfortable it doesn’t matter where you get them.

I LOVE WALMART THEY HAVE CUTE STUFF! TARGET IS REALLY GREAT TOO.

I’m 25 and try to follow the latest “trends” I got my maternity clothes at old navy.com. Everything I got there fit perfect and was very comfortable. I hate JCPennys I never find anything there and there clothes never fit right. As for walmart I bought reg plus size clothes when I was pregnant as my walmart no longer carries maternity clothes. You should check out old navy and the gap. Hope I helped!

target is good, or you can wear womens clothes, cause the are bigger then juniors. or the motherhood store.

Personally I have never seen anything in Wal-Mart that I would actually wear. Of course maybe the selection is different in the States. Around the house some of the stuff wouldn’t be too bad.
The problem I am having is finding shirts long enough to cover all of my tummy. With the pants being so low cut it is hard to find. The best thing I have come up with is a wrap dress over jeans.

lol…oddly enough this was one of the first things that came to my mind when I found out I was pregnant. You see all those pictures of cute girls with cute dresses with they’re perfect pregnant bellies….then you start looking at the maternity clothes and want to gag. Old navy had some cute stuff I was looking at. I’m sure there’s other places online that have cute stuff. If you got a gift card and dont want to use them I would use them for baby stuff. congrats.

I am in the same situation. For some reason, maternity pants have those skinny straight legs. I have larger thighs so I like looseness on my legs, but I haven’t been able to find proper fitting maternity clothing. I can’t even find skirts that fit me. If your Walmart has the same selection as my Walmart…skip it. I almost got physically ill looking at the selection of maternity clothing they had. I shudder to even think of it. JC Penney on line seems to have a nicer selection, so you might want to try there. I go to Motherhood. It’s a maternity store in my mall. They have a lot of trendy clothing. Still have a problem with the bottoms though. Some day I will find the perfect pair of maternity pants!

i loved target and motherhood. walmart’s selection to me was very limited although i think that they have some good casual and comfortable clothes. jcpenney was way too expensive for my taste for clothes that i wasnt going to wear but for a couple of months. good luck!

I was against maternity pants lol so i bought regular pants in bigger sizes (low rise jeans and such)… But i got maternity shirts from Walmart, Sears, JC Penny’s, Motherhood, etc. Its all about comfort.

I am 28, my kids are now 3 and 4. I got most of my maternity clothes from Wal mart. They are somewhat trendy looking. I got most of my tops, a pair of shorts, and bras there, however I got a pair or two of jeans from Motherhood Maternity. I don’t know about JC Penny’s. Most of the time I stayed home so I just wore comfy shorts and tees, when I did go out I wore the jeans and a nicer top. I was like you into comfort! Good Luck and Congratulations!
p.s. another good source is Old Navy online…..they have really cute maternity clothes!

I was 23 when I became pregnant, and found the bulk of my maternity clothing at Old Navy- and at a maternity thrift store called Clothes Mentor- they don’t have too many of those around, but I noticed a Once Upon a Child where my mom lives had some maternity clothing too- I found lot’s of great things- and yes it was used, but just think about how long they were worn- not too long at all! lol So most of the things I bought looked brand new. I personally couldn’t stand any type of pants that went on my belly, so I tried my best to stay away from those types of pants lol.. But as the summer came, I was near the end of my pregnancy by the end of summer, so I was bigger, and dresses worked wonders then because they weren’t too tight on my stomach, and so were so comfy! Again, I didn’t find too much at JC Penny’s and Wal-mart, but here and there I’d find a top I’d like. Old Navy was really the only place I shopped when I wasn’t shopping at the maternity thrift store… and at the thrift store, I found tops and pants from Mimi Maternity- (that store is way too expensive), but the used clothing from there was still nice, but yet affordable!
Goodluck, and don’t worry- if you find something you like from those stores that feels comfy, then go for it!

I liked target and walmarts is to high. Why dont you just get t-shirts since you will be wearing them a little after the baby. I bought a pack of white tees and wore them. I wouldnt be buying maternity clothes at 7 months thats a wast of money.

I got some stuff at Walmart, but most of it on Ebay. I found a big lot (17 items) of really cute stuff for around $25. It included casual, business wear, etc.

Im 23 years old…I love Motherhood—(their prices are not too bad when on sale)—-and I personally dont like Wal-mart clothes—JcPenney has nice maternity clothes…also try Ross they carry lots of it and very nice and cheap….

I’ve never looked at maternity clothes at Wal-Mart before. JCPenney’s are okay, not the most stylish, but if you have time to look, you might find some cute things. I like Motherhood and Mimi Maternity. I have about 3 weeks to go until my due date and wear mostly jeans and snug, fitted tops. Have fun shopping!

I’m 28 and had my baby last year. I bought most of my maternity clothes from JCPenney and Target. I was a able to get both work and weekend clothes from both. I am also not into the tight, belly bearing clothes so I know what you’re talking about. Good luck!
